Protesters Clash with Detroit Police; 1 Protester Shot and Killed

The day started out with a peaceful protest of thousands of Detroiters to honor the life of George Floyd at 4pm in downtown Detroit. Later in the evening, the protest escalated into a riot between protesters and the Detroit Police Department.

At 11:30 p.m. one protester was shot and killed when a gray Dodge Durango pulled up and someone inside opened fire into the crowd, hitting a 19-year-old at Congress and Randolph.
