Tonight is a big day for sports in Detroit - Detroit Lions are making their 2018 regular season debut and Justin Verlander is returning for his first game in Detroit since the trade. It's sad to see him not in a Tigers jersey, but after this message, we are glad to have you in town.
In a video posted to Instagram on Sunday, former Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander expressed his excitement for his first return to Comerica Park since he was traded to Houston in August 2017.
"I'm really excited about tomorrow. I've heard a lot of people are excited as well in the area," Verlander said. The star pitcher added that he "cannot wait to take the mound here in Comerica Park in front of the fans that I have known and loved for so long."
